Hmmm, and about the $5K or best offer for an '09 LX. Another unwelcome surprise coming  .

They are asking way too much for it. For $5000 you may as well put that down on a 300.

Not everybody is into scooters and that's OK!

Probably a safe bet that all the members of MB are into scooters though  - and that's okay too.

5 grand for a stock LX? Man... people are greedy little twats. Of course, it's "iconic" so therefore it must be worth a TON!!!!

I see the same thing at my wife's favourite record shop (i.e. the place where a quarter of my paycheck goes to die...). People bring in old records, players and even CASSETTES and think just because it is old or it has some famous name on it, it's worth hundreds or thousands. Every Beatles album is a $500 gem... every bit of old equipment with a tube amplifier is worth the price of a new MacBook to them.

Unfortunately, they won't PAY those kinds of prices if *they* wanted it... they just think someone else should.

Gotta love the asking price when a the MSRP new was $4,399 http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/vespa/s ... x/150.html and it will need service because it has been sitting unused. Doesn't even appear to have any accessories either.

I get that not everyone want a scooter but wanting more than new 3-4 models years later. Heck, I bought a less than 1 year old Sports City for half of the price of a new one with 287 miles on it because the guy bought it for his wife to be able to ride with him on her own and she found she preferred to ride on the back of his THEN when she found out she was pregnant decided she wanted the money for the nursery. Okay, I got a great deal but this person is just plain old crazy if he thinks he'll get more for the LX than a new 2012 Vespa LX150ie, white x 1, $4599 (AF1 Racing's current online price list) complete with warranty and roadside assistance. Heck, they've got 2010 Vespa GTS300, silver, perfect, 2500 miles, $5199

I agree that it is overpriced...but it is his scooter...he can ask whatever he wants for it. I guess the dissapointing part is slamming the guy and talk about visiting him to set him straight.

If you want to have a "let's post this for sale ad on MB and pile on this person we don't know and go visit him with a hammer" party go for it. As classless as I can be I like to think I have more than that!

Agreed. As much as I think that the seller's asking price is ridiculous, it's up to the potential buyer to do due diligence. Hell, if I asked $25K for my 2000 shot-to-hell Nissan as-is, and someone was willing to pay it, well, it's on them.
