Motorcycle accident during charity ride in Kansas City

Post by avonpirate »

The weekend of the 15th. My sister was one of the victims injured when a truck pulled into the bike she was on. JUST found out about it this am, as no-one informed the family: Mom and her twin sister, until yesterday. If anyone can send a link to a newspaper article about the accident I'd be appreciative. What I know is that she was unconscious, 27 stitches to the back of her head, another surgery this Tuesday. Makes a case for ICE tags while riding. Any info appreciated.
She with the most 'used' toys wins.

I can't seem to find anything doing a quick Google search. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your sister and a speedy recovery. People just don't see us when we are out there, no matter how much we try to be visible. It makes me sad and scared for all of us.

This is a long shot. You could contact Johnny dare of the 98.9 the rock morning show. He's very big into the kc motorcycle scene. He works in all the march of dimes rides. Google 98.9 the rock.

Bikers for Babies was the name of hte event. I called the event coordinator.
Johnny Dare is next on the list. On google all I can get is someone who died in 2009 during the ride.
I'm heading to KC area on Monday, her surgery is scheduled Tuesday. She lives near The Walmart near Black Bob, near the post office.
thnx

Yikes! Best wishes for your sister and your family. :(
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...

I couldn't find anything either. Just the aforementioned 2009 incident.
Blackbob is in Olathe. Wishing her the best of luck on her surgery.

How long will you be in KC? We have a planned ride on Saturday Oct. 6th, if you get a chance you should PM me and ride with us.

Jan is out of surgery . Doing well, energies are working for her. Road rash is healing amazingly. Surgical scrub of partial face, back, gluts, leg, arm. Not hit by a truck. Driver laid bike down to avoid truck, not during the ride, on the way home from the ride. Thanks for your support.
