Buddy 150 Valve Adjustment Interval

Post by theevolone56 »

Hi,

You seem to be really up on the Buddy. I'm wondering where to find instructions for adjusting valve clearance.

It says in the manual "as needed" which makes no sense to me if one doesn't want to burn a valve.

Do you have any idea?

Although watercraft related, this video explains 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine differences.

As BuddyRaton points out, the photos are for adjustment of the valves on the 4T 125/150/170. The shop manual for the 50cc 2T is in the MB facts and guides. It discusses the reed valve used in the 2T and how it is replaced if damaged.

Hello BuddyLand:

I know the Buddy 125 Serivce Manual says 0.08 millimeters for valve clearance.
What are the specifications for the Buddy 150 & 170i?

I have a Big Bore Kit 161cc installed in my Buddy 125. Anyone know the valve clearance for this?

Thanks

If your kit used the same Head then the clearance should be the same as it was with your 125cc jug.

Otherwise if you got a new head with the Kit it should have come with specs.
