Def not scooter related, nor do I profit from any deals posted. I just like saving money. These won't be awful deals posted on junk, but good deals posted on good stuff. It's a Happy Holiday Thread :)

Can't do it all alone, though. Help me out for heavens sake.

First deal and its a good one. $59.99. Get 'em while they last. I am posting daily as I am gift shopping daily :)

It's showing a lot of locally-owned one-of-a-kind restaurants for my area.

It's the American way: Force Christmas down the throats of everyone with a wallet, no matter how broke they are!!!

I enjoy the holiday season as an excuse to eat a TON and to see family and friends, but as a holiday I don't celebrate (since most forget there's a religious component to it) I really get sick of the commercialism that's attached.

Although, my wife is talking about attacking black Friday so we can get a new TV  Really don't know how I feel about this part... many places are now opening up on Thanksgiving night even! I mean, I want a new wall of video for the new place, but I'm not going to be dragged from my turkey and Stoli to save $20... I mean, my dad only cooks once a year and it's *good*

While it might not fit the "great deal" criteria ... it is scooter related and would make a very interesting Christmas gift (for some :D )

*sigh*

As bad as it sounds, I would *almost* consider converting if I found a Stella with matching sidecar wrapped up for me.

Almost.

What the hell???

That's not even usable with Windows 8 (not a touch mouse... and trust me, it's a completely different system with one). And, where do you put your hand?

Crapgadget indeed.

Well, not for everyone, but for you musicians this is an awesome deal!! I've had my eye on a new full-line set of Alto speakers (A division of Numark) ever since using some on a gig, and they honestly put my JBL setup to shame. If you have a garage band, are a DJ or want better than the "affordable" PA sound but without the price, these things are going for around $180... usually $300+

Alto SX Sub15 bass driver

At least I'd want a pair of these for Christmas.

even though these are not on sale anymore i am going to post them with a brief explanation. i got these 2 for $13. they are now back to 2 for $35. how good are they for riding? i would gladly pay the $35. and i will when these fail. and i will not be giving ALL i ordered away

main thing. the earpieces are contoured. the outer stem of the bud lies flat against the ear before the earpiece turns inward. when a helmet goes on it slides right over the stem of the bud as the stem is flat against the ear. completely undisturbed

the cord "zips" up to the chin if you like. this feels secure while riding. if you find it moving down in the wind a bit of tape will do. what is great is when taking off the helmet the cord is not delicate. so you can unzip it to desired length, press either side of the cord against the upper chin strap, and take off the helmet and ear buds all in one motion. these are ideal for riding imo

recommended even at full price. and they sound very good. vibrant, even. i am not saying all will find them perfect for the task, but if you like 'buds they would have to be close. they feel quality, too. materials are nice, they look good. the cord is braided, not plastic

might be cheaper elsewhere now but idk? comes in a little sealed pack in plastic with pouch, neck strap, and bud covers. 2 pair they would make great stocking stuffers.

http://www.buy.com/prod/vulcan-crossove ... 74235.html

see the earbud turn inward? thats a very good thing :)

i got a set last time around and just picked up another. they are metal not plastic and look neat. def not cheap, plasticky, and fragile. don't know how they work because they are gifts. but for the food prep / cook imo its a good item. the set sells for upwards of $30 at Amazon. but note these do NOT come in retail packaging when ordering from w00t

$5.99

YAYAYAYAY!

Okay, so this holiday season I have decided that I am going to try my damnedest to buy all of my gifts from local/small business, not chain retailers.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS.

To that end, please take a really long look at Etsy one day/night when you have some time at the computer. The following are links to 'Treasury Lists' I have made on Etsy, all with scooter-themed items (unfortunately, because Etsy is dumb and limits the number of items in a list, I had to make four separate lists to include everything I've favorited)
Tees/Clothes,Jewelry, Purses/Bags, Misc!

The following are some reasonably priced, very neat favorite shops of mine on Etsy:
Passionate Jewelry- very unique and beautiful jewelry, very reasonably priced.
Strangely Yours- Quirky, one-of-a-kind jewelry
My Precious Studio- gorgeous jewelry with a exotic flair, based out of my city; I know people who have purchased from her and fully recommend this artist and her jewelry
Gryphon Design Studios - *WARNING, semi-shameless ad* This is actually my best friend's Etsy; he sells mainly Steampunky jewelry, AND also Harry Potter-esque, hand made and decorated (painted, stained, woodburned, etc) wooden wands... more reasonably priced and more accessible than the ones sold at Disney. If you have a Potterhead in your family, especially a younger one, a handmade wand makes a fantastic gift.

Now that I'm done touting the benefits of Etsy, I'd also like to say that I've been finding some stellar deals on Groupon/LivingSocial; however, I know that the availability of sites like those can vary widely depending on where you live. I'll post any of those separately if I see any super duper deals.

FYI- if you guys see any really good grabs on a tablet, post it. I'm very interested in buying a 10-inch tablet, preferably that runs Android 4.0- I'm hoping to get a great deal on a Galaxy Tab 2 sometime this holiday season, but I'll take something else if I come across a deal that can't be passed up.

Be very careful with these. They have a reputation for including restaurants they haven't even negotiated the deals with. They've been sued for all sorts of scammy things, too. http://classactionlawsuitsinthenews.com ... complaint/

Be sure to call your local restaurants and confirm they'll accept these before buying.

Lambretta watches on Fab.com - you have to sign up for an account to view the merchandise, so there's no point in me linking, but the account is free. Ends in a little over a day.

Also, Lokky and I found these at Target:
Image
The big thing is a scootie ornament we found in the Xmas section, we got a couple.
The smaller one is a nice-sized charm I spotted in the jewelry section on clearance. It's on a claw hook, so I'm not sure what it is meant to be exactly... but I managed to snag two, so I'm probably going to make my best friend turn them into earrings :D

I did not know that, they get sent to us through a corporate promotion at work. Like I said earlier, I have never used them. There are not any places listed in the area where I live. I live in a very rural area on the coarst. We only have three places to eat other than fast food.

OK, I've gotten serious about my Christmas shopping the last few days. One of the best things about technology is that I can get it all done from the comfort of my office or home and never have to enter a store.

Anyway, these are all Groupon deals that I purchased today. This first one made me chuckle. I don't know exactly which unfortunate soul will receive this gift for Christmas, but someone will ... maybe my MIL

Image

This second one I bought for my 8 YO niece. She loves to mess around with pianos but doesn't have one. She does however have an Ipad.

Image

And this was a little pre-Christmas gift to myself.

This made me chuckle, too. I may buy the heated one, just so that I can say I have a heated toilet seat. Bahahaha.

I thought about that as well. But, I have a problem with heated things. They tend to make me fall asleep. Need I say more about why that might not be such a good idea. :)
