need some help

Post by fossel »

So my 125 was having jet problems. I had to find a spot where my throttle would take off.I was thinking jets.so I put it in the shop ,they stuck it in the tank and cleaned my carb. Well it ran perfect for a . week. Then would die on occasion at idle at stop lights, but would start up.
The other day it started and ran perfect all the way ti in and out burgers, but I had a hell of a time getting it started. Then yesterday it died at idle at a light, and I couldnt start it.I pushed it a mile home in the walk of shame. In the morning started fine, ran good and then died at a light. The battery got weaker and weaker. My question is could this be the cdi,or battery? Id like your thoughts.Id like to try some fixes before I stick it in a shop thanks

Mine was doing the same thing - dying at stop lights, would start right back up. Occasionally it wouldn't start but would turn over...

When I brought it in, they cleaned the carb and all that, but the problem was the stator. They replaced it and voila, no more problems. However, after a long day of multiple, short-ish rides (>10 miles each), the engine would shut off at idle or stop lights, but start right back up. I raised the idle just a hair and no problems since.

Hope you get it figured out...

That sucks! When that happened to me, I was somehow able to start it, and it would ONLY stay running if I held the throttle open all the way. That was an interesting ride home...

Fossel,
Mine sort of went through the same progression until it reached the point where it didn't start at all.
Mine ended up being the Stator.
Good luck.

I know just how you feel, friend. I commute 99% of the time to work and for groceries and errands and out to the lil lady's house....and just for the hell of it....
