Key-Replacement or spare -false alarm

Post by paige »

I had a new key made today, as one of my originals is hecka bent and making me nervous. The local hardware stores did not have a blank, but the locksmith did. It is an Ilco X212 TR46 key blank. (Toyota) Hope it works for others.

On further use, the key is too fat for the lock. Try, try again.

Thank you for this info Paige! I've been meaning to get a spare key made so I'm going to do it this weekend.

I have a really bad habit of losing keys

I definitely need more than one spare!

good idea. at hill on wheels rally, one of our guys (i won't spill names because he's our most level headed member and quite embarrassed about it) lost his one and only broken key the morning we were to ride 200 miles home. no worries though, there was extra trailer room.
