NSR-Titanium. Beautiful. Shiny.
This is waaay off topic, but if our esteemed leader will humor me a bit for pushing the boundaries of Church and Site, you really oughta see this. Here's a little article about it with more pix. It's just a little scooter ride... 311 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Anybody else want to go?

I've come to the realization that I could ride and sight see for the rest of my life and never make a dent in all of the places I would like to go.
As much as I would love to see this (and the northern lights), every now and then I have to admit my limititations .... practicality wins out .... I won't put it on my riding bucket list.

Just not my cup of architectural tea, I guess. I get the novelty and symbolism, and the shiny skin is initially striking. However, it has a gimmick feeling to me that I don't think will stand over time, and the machine look of a cam shaft outline doesn't complement the surrounding nature, but seems to show how limited the design is to what nature can produce. I'm not a traditionalist - I love modern architecture that pushes the envelope - and in the right setting something like this could be much more inspiring. Maybe there is a back story or history to the village that I'm missing. I hope they love it - to each his/her own - just my humble opinion.
