Battery Charge

Post by swartzieee »

Firstly, thank you all for your recent help!

What is the purpose of the Battery Tender Jr?

When the scooter isn't running, the battery slowly loses its charge. Over the course of weeks or months, it gets too weak to start the engine. The Tender keeps it charged, which also prolongs the useful life of the battery.

Swartzieee: Don't even hesiatate for one minute. It's the best $25.00 I have ever spent...Trust me on this. I have own countless small motorcycles & 6 scooters (2 in my stable now) & the Deltran Battery Tender Jr. is worth every nickel! It will keep your battery charged @ all times & will extend the life of the battery. I owned a Kymco People S200 & sold it to a friend of mine....the battery lasted over 6 years!!

One more thing - the Battery Tender line of chargers is a 'smart' charger - unlike dumbo chargers that just apply a constant charging voltage to the battery and lead to overcharging, the Tender measures your battery, charges with 'main' voltage & current until the battery comes up to a proper level, then switches to a 'maintenance' mode, keeping it full if it drops off a bit, but not overcharging.

I have an alarm system on my scoot whose radio receiver draws a few milliamps whether the alarm is armed or not. Left unattended, this drain will exhaust the Buddy battery in two weeks. The Tender keeps my battery topped up, especially in the winter months. As said before, best $25 you can spend on your scoot.

LOL, I just ordered one of these models to finish out my Scooterworks Gift Card. It will look good next to the model of my Jetta.
