90 Degrees in the Valley of The Sun(stroke)

Good thing I took the scoot to work: Took off a bit early due to not feeling well, and took an extended ride to a used books/record joint on the other side of the valley. Came home feeling a LOT better, a tank of fuel lighter and a first pressing of Iggy Pop's first solo vinyl.

Anyone else getting an early start on the warm weather for riding?

Between the snow storms we've had in Denver and the harsh virus I caught last week, I've been stuck in the truck. Thankfully, we have a new radio station here so it's been bearable (comedy 24/7; 103.1).

Tomorrow is going to be 67 degrees and 71 on Friday. I'm over the cold symptoms enough to get back in the saddle so I'm gonna be two-wheelin' it!

Used books and music? Where, pray tell?

There are a ton of places in the Valley, man! The one I hit today was Bookman's on Dobson and Southern in Methtopia...er... I mean, Mesa. Found a mint original copy to Iggy's "The Idiot" for $20, which is kind of hit or miss for that joint. They have another Bookman's in Phoenix on Northern and 19th ave, but that one is crap for used vinyl because there is also another AWESOME used music/book media joint close to there. Zia's just opened up in a former wallgreens on 19th and Camelback, and they are right on the light rail route. Tons of new and used Vinyl, better Blu-Ray selection and a growing book department.

There's also a few choice record shops in the downtown core. To find the good stuff you just need to get out of the East Valley.

I've been riding the Yager pretty much daily since October and commuting clear across Tucson for the last two months. The 30-degree temp variation is a bit annoying. Layer in the morning and in the afternoon, stow the layers, open the jacket vents and swap out the gloves. The ride is generally the best part of my day, though.

Thanks, neo. I make the rounds (FYE, Revolver, Stinkweeds) every once in a while. But I'll tell you what, I miss Hoodlums.

I'm in the Valley of the Sun too. I just got back from a 10 mile round tripper with a brief stop for coffee sitting outdoors of course. 85 F in the shade. Life is good!
