Auto Stella sometime soon?

Will be 38 myself, and had a early midlife crisis last year and bought Abigail. My first two wheels.

Indeed  ! First make the choice about manual shift or CVT auto. If you decide to go the CVT route, there are several other possible choices besides the 946. When (if) it arrives, it will be a very high priced special edition and perhaps not the best choice for a first ride.

Yeah the price is a stickler but not a deal breaker at least for me. Manual or CVT makes no difference and this will be my second scoot. Been riding the 170i for 2 years now. Kinda want something different....Might just say "F" it and take up the Ocarina....(much cheaper and I'll learn a new insturment)...

37??? Your still a kid. I bought my Buddy as a 50th birthdayresent to me. First PTW ever. I loved it so much I got a GTV 250 5 months later... I think 50 deserves an extended birthday year LOL. Both the Stella and the Vespa are reall fun, so go with your heart on this one. That's what I did and I'm very happy. Learning to heave the GTV up on the center stand after getting used to the Buddy was a bit of a challenge at first though. That was the worst part.

Happy Birthday early :D

I'm in agreement, you're still a 'youngster'....
I bought my Buddy for myself for my 49th B-day 4 years ago, loving life while riding......
Maybe in a year or five when I hit another 'milestone' B-day I'll get a GTV like 'Mutt' did, that is my 'dream bike'....

Thanks Mutt. Your too Kind! Think I'll go and have a look at some dealers asap. Ever since I saw that 946 I was hooked and been saving for months and mannaged to save enough for a brand new GTS, but the 946 seems too over priced for what it is. (yes I'm a frugal cheapskate most of the time)!!! Only problem is If I get a Stella I want a white and red one. Yes I know they don't come that way standard....

I've always loved the GTVs. I never thought I'd actually own one. I love my Pamplona too, it is so cute and fun. I pat them every time I walk by. Never did that with a car.

You could get two Stellas with custom paint jobs for the price of one 946 (at least according to prerelease rumors  ).

The 946 is utterly lust-worthy. But I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in a GTS.... Same insides as my GTV (I fell in love with the headlight.... Some people absolutely hate it, I just fell in love... After trying out a lot of 16" wheeled scooters. They were too tall for me. I had not considered a Vespa because I thought I could not afford one, especially a top-of-the-line one. And then I saw the GTV I got ... A 2009 250ie with under 500 miles on it... From the dealer. The second I sat on it, I had to have it. No regrets either.

No argument there Mutt. The GTS and its variants are probably the best alround traditional scooter ever built.

For the selling prices I personally would buy one Stella and perhaps one Buddy 150 plus a nice helmet and a nice jacket and a nice dinner and then bank the remainder.

If recent history from Piaggio is any indicator, expect the 946 to be out a year after promised, more expensive than anything in it's category than what has come before, lackluster to zero parts support and a miracle if any are actually shipped to US dealers outside of NYC, LA or perhaps Miami.

Grab a Stella, save 3-4 grand NOW and enjoy real scootering. Or a couple of buddy scoots. Either way you can't go wrong there

I don't know about the rest of your suppositions (I realize you have some adverse history with Piaggio/Vespa), but I think we can all count on this one. The 946 is expected to be the most expensive Vespa ever (about $8k is the rumor), which is saying a whole lot for a 150.
