River Road Taos pants -not the deal I hoped for.

Post by ChitownDave »

I did a video review on my new pants. Iva had the two months.
How have they held up? Not that great.
Watch the follow up vids as I test their water proof capabilities.

I've tried a couple different styles of riding pants (jeans and cargo) and just don't find them comfortable. So, I go without ... so much for ATGATT. I'm a MOTGMOTT (Most Of The Gear, Most Of The Time) kind of person.

I do generally carry along my light weight goretex pants/jacket with me for those rainy times and those work very well for me.

The best thing I have found for rain are some thin REI pants that slip over my jeans and have a full length zipper on either side. I wear them all the time when rain seems imminent.

Admittedly these pants won't help me in a wreck (in fact I got the road rash on my knee to prove that a few years ago), but the armored pants I have are so uncomfortable on my knees--and make me feel so much like the "Stay Puffed Marshmello Woman" (take off from Ghost Busters)--that I never wear them.

Gear only works if you will wear it, right?
