has any one heard news of genuine touring scooter

i have read on 2 stroke buzz that genuine was getting a very big scooter.

Yes, you'll find various and occasional threads on MB about this. We lovingly/sadly refer to it as the Rainbow Unicorn.
My sense of the latest for this is:
It's still coming one day, maybe next year at the soonest. Priority seems to be the auto Stella. But it'll be 2-300cc and in a vintage, "cruiser" style. Lots of reasons for the delay but biggest seems to be the scooter market downturn that happened a few years ago.
Lots of ModernBuddy-ers are still waiting with anticipation for it, we're just not holding our breath anymore. Dang blackouts.

I take it that you noticed the rumor in 2 Stroke Buzz was dated 8/9/09
. Lots of previois discussions here on the subject, but the bottom line seems to be that the concept isn't going anywhere anytime soon in the Genuine stable. In the meantime, the GTS Vespa has been boosted to 300cc, Piaggio has come out with the BV 350, Kymco has come out with both the Downtown 300 and People 300i, and Honda is rumored to soon be introducing the Forza 300. Lots of choices for someone looking for a touring scooter in the 250-350 size class.

Genuine posted an "Idea bank" to their FB six weeks ago. There were 75 responses and most of them leaned in the direction of the GC/RU/a larger-displacement twisty Stella.

I love it whenever this topic comes up!
My personal preference / what I would get excited about...
...a Genuine branded reincarnation of the Juno in the form of a large-displacement scooter.

That is a Honda Juno. It, the Fuji Rabbit, and the Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon were early Japanese scooters that following the design and styling of several large frame European scooters of the post-WW2 era. My own personal favorite of this genre is the Zundapp Bella. (Yes, it would great if Genuine recreated a classic touring scooter in this style - again, don't hold your breath)

Would be great, but I'm not "holding my breath" on it coming out soon. I'd love to get a BV 350 if I could find one and make sure it is exactly what I'm wanting....

I've noticed that lots of people around my age (20-30 or so) really like these classic designs. They also fit in with the steampunk aesthetic, which is very popular these days.
There are so many old-fashioned motorcycles available currently; the entire Royal Enfield and Ural lines, the SYM Wolf 150 and Symba, and the Suzuki TU250X (this one is really a completely modern bike, made to look old-fashioned. I'm pretty sure it's fuel injected and has modern reliability and bells and whistles).
But Stella is, as far as I know, the only scooter of its kind available stateside. It would be great if there were something along the lines of a Stella, but with a freeway capable engine and storage good for long-distance touring.
