My buddy and I picked up an 08 buddy with 1 mile last winter. We got it cleaned and running. We when stored it outside on the side of the house. I told him to start it as much as he can since he was not legal to ride and it would be sitting there until he got his license.

So it's getting warmer and I want him to start learning. We got a fresh battery and tune up before the winter season began. Now the buddy starts but seems like its dying. When it does run, it will die when you throttle even on a touch. What can be the problem?

Gunk? Battery?

It doesn't sound like a battery problem; once the engine is running the battery doesn't do much (just blinkers and horn).

Could be bad gas?

Just got it fixed. The mechanic down the block just cleaned out the carb (or a thing that looked like a needle).
