I drive the cage once and this is what happens...

Post by skully93 »

So, I just received a speeding ticket. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time I've even been pulled over in 20+ years.

I'm sort of glad. Sort of, because it means $$ on my part.

The backstory:

After cleaning off the car, I was headed merrily down the road. As I cross Broadway, a 'gentleman' in a white audi turns left, in front of me, and gives me the bird. He knew he was wrong, and he was happy about it. I'd like to happily take a belt sander to his face. Umm...OK. I was understandably unhappy.

Part 2, just a few blocks later, a gal turns in some SUV, left, against the light, right in front of me. totally oblivious. I was livid.

So livid that I obviously wasn't paying attention to my speed. This is the same stretch of Buchtel where people routinely ride my ass on the scooter, and refuse to move over. Only a short distance away from where a pedestrian was run over earlier this year.

So I'm sort of glad that 1) I was called on my own BS before someone was hurt, and 2) that the particular stretch of road is now being looked after, so hopefully people will slow down a little.

So last night I was unhappy someone didn't show up to give me money, and now I'm happy to pay it to a faceless institution. Hrmmmm.....

Glad the reality check ended with no one injured.
With any luck, that was the last of the damn snow, too!

Monday was 80 degrees, Wednesday gave us snow.

just say no to cages :D

when i drive one i tend to drive like i ride, so i am told. i drive faster, find gaps and openings, and generally drive like i ride to w/e extent i can. i certainly think i am a better driver for my riding. but i've always felt i am a better rider then i might be (perception, etc) because i have always been a good driver on account of my nazi drivers ed. teacher in HS

but no, no speeding tickets. yet

Gotta love the mountains! I have a niece that just moved to the Springs, she texted the other day and said "what did I do to deserve this?"
