Until the last decade or so we used to get excellent sweet corn all season long. Now days, thanks to we all know who, with the farmers getting paid more to raise inefficient, low mileage fuel products than feed or sweet corn, food prices are sky rocketing and gasoline and sweet corn have turned to crap.

Stabil or Seafoam is a must now for scooter engines just to keep the carbs clean!!

It's much worse for vintage and other 2T motors not to mention the incredible amount of water it takes to grow corn.
ETHANOL SUCKS!

As I have digestive issues when I eat too much corn, is there a correlation there with too much corn running through the digestive system of the scoot??

Exactly. Ethanol tends to clog the jests and collect in the bowl as a white
jelly like substance. Use Sea Foam or Stabil as directed on the bottle.
These two have worked for me keeping the carbs on my scoots clean.

I prefer Seafoam.
Be aware that there is a red and a blue version of Stabil. My experience with the red was not satisfactory so be sure what you buy specifically says it deals with the issues of ethanol.

I use the blue version. Have nothing against Sea Foam, have some on my
scooter stuff shelf in my warehouse/shop.

I like Seafoam. It doesn't work with sweet corn though.
By the way, the latest issue of the AMA magazine has several interesting letters from motorcycle service people and the damage that they have seen from ethanol in gas.

And they want to go to 15% Ethanol in gas....
AMA is fighting this.

Only thing that works on sweet corn is butter.... but not so much in my scooter fuel tank!

I read the same issue. It is known to plug up lawn mowers, chain saws, boat motors, motorcycle and scooter motors, clogs the jets and leaves a white jelly like substance in the carb bowls. I can just imagine what 15% ethanol will do. It might plug up the gas hoses at the pump!!!

Hopefully the E15 will eat the hoses at the filling stations.

That's a good one, put in a way that I think everyone can relate on some level. I think we all get to feeling that way from time to time in our life, from too many sensory inputs happening...too much technology, too many new things...some to a greater (or lesser) degree than others, of course.
The corn though....
