Ok! OK! Breathe then exhale.... Ohh and congratulations. It's a fine, well built scoot. I like it more than my Stella...

I remember having to wait for my Italia, it drove me nuts. Enjoy, it's only more fun from here. At least you have time to do some gear shopping :)

A very good choice. Of all the scooters & small motorcycles I've owned over the years, including a Buddy 125, the Buddy 170i is my favorite.

Thanks for all your support...

What a fun excellent day...! 8)

Picked up the Buddy at 3pm, rides really nice and peppy too...!

Took it easy following break in recommendations, put 23 miles on the Buddy, before taking it home...

Looking forward to tomorrow...

Cycling helped a lot in getting quick familiarity. Leaning nicely in good fluid turns, I was even practicing counter steering... Or, rather noticing when I did it with out thinking of it. I found the more I thought about it, rather than looking through the turn made it feel odd, a bit akward...

Anyways, feeling good, gaining confidence, staying alert, and having lots fun:x

Thanks again for all your support

Woot! Have fun.

I am planning to purchase my 170i this afternoon. I wont be picking it up until next weekend though. My motorcycle safety course is next week. At least I will have plenty of time to go to the DMV and take care of tax/tags before I pick it up.

Here's a Pic of the new Buddy 170i

Post by CTB170i »

I've ridden over 180 miles since I got the scooter this past Saturday. I've been riding it work and all over San Diego county…

It's a challenge to stay within the break-in limits, but I'm doing a fairly good job without being a danger (too slow) to other cagers…

I'm planing an excursion this weekend to visit ScooterWest in San Deigo from Encinitas… I'll try not to spend too much $$$ while I'm there…

Loving every minute on the scooter…

Hello CTB170i

You been blessed with a fine piece of equipment!!!
Mine is a Buddy 125.
I know you need to go through break in process, but have you gotten any idea yet, how fast your scooter can go, and what your fuel consumption is like?

Other than the Blackjack, the racing green with the stripe is my favorite! Beautiful. Congrats!
Just noticed how much bigger the oil cooler looks on the 170i vs. the 150.

I belive they're similar in size based on observations of both models; the 170 cooler is just moved a lot further forward. My thought based on your comment was, "Just noticed how much more vulnerable the oil cooler looks on the 170i vs. the 150."

CTB, congratulations on the new bike. May it return many happy miles!
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...

Hey Rick

Thanks...!

I'm not really paying too much attention on how much fuel I put in during break-in, as I know it will change.. But, I picked it up with a full tank from the dealer, rode 83 miles over the first two days and just as the needle touched the red area I filled it. Wasn't too sure the amount of fuel, but gas here in southern CA is $3.89/gal, and I paid $3.23.

It's quick! Constant strong acceleration with just 1/4 of the throttle twisted. I'm 5'10, 150lbs... Funny how I just leave all the cars behind at a light...

So far, its got 203 miles. Has no problem reaching and achieving 50 indicated, I have to hold it back... I once accidentally hit 55 indicated not paying attention to speedometer, just enjoying the ride...

It's the best money I've spent in a while... I'm truly looking forward to the scooting life.

LOL, I've only rode my car once, since I got the scooter... I had to get some dinner the other night; unfortunately, my permit only allows daytime riding... I feel like I'm 16 again...

Thanks ax_slynch, yup... Looking forward to it...

Yeah, I thought the same thing too, since I need to store it on my patio, which requires me to get it up over a curb from the parking lot... My complex also have speed bumps that scrape the bottom of my car (Nissan 350z, not lowered), but the scoots small wheel base keeps the the oil cooler and filter with good clearances to all my specific issues...

Your new scoot is a beauty. Other color schemes claim to be faster, but British racing green and white racing stripe with tan upholstery is the best looking. That's my first, second and third favorite choice. Congratulations!
