Just bought a used Buddy last week, love it so far. I park the scooter in a 2 car garage and after a while, the garage will smell faintly of gas. So I was doing some investigating today and found that the rubber seal on the gas cap is split. Could this be allowing some gas vapor to escape and causing the smell? Any other things I should check for?
Thanks all, love the forum.

Going through that myself.
I suggest that you open the air cleaner box and see if gas is leaking down in there.
Also I'd sniff the engine oil to be sure it's not contaminated with gas. If so, change it and the oil filter immediately.
Mine has been draining into the air cleaner housing so I am just now replacing the fuel shutoff valve as well as fiddling with the carb float/needle. My needle had a slight ring worn into it.
Oem parts were ordered fro Scooter Lounge as the local dealer has nothing specific in stock.
It takes a couple weeks from Scooter Lounge, but atleast they get everything.
Turns out it was the vacuum gas shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank.
I hate those automated things.
