My M1 and Adjustable Brake Levers

Post by sfchorus »

Hello everyone! I received my M1 license today so I thought that deserved a post on this forum. I bought my 2009 Buddy 125 about a month ago, took the written exam and MSF course, and have been riding to work the past couple of weeks. It’s been a busy month!

Riding to work in the morning has been a pleasure, but it’s been very windy in the afternoons in San Francisco these days, so riding home has been very scary. I’m pleasantly surprised though, at how well behaved car drivers have been towards me. No one’s tried to kill me yet :-)

The one thing I wanted to ask all of you is about brake levers. I have tiny hands and find the distance from the handgrips to the brake levers to be a stretch. Does anyone know where I can find billet aluminum adjustable brake levers? My mechanic says that a company called NCY Products made them for the PGO “Bubu.” Does any know if I can still get these or am I just SOL?

Many thanks in advance! I’ve been lurking on this board for the past month and have learned a ton. Thanks for all the information you share.

They have them at Scooterworks but you may need to call them to find out if they will fit the Buddy.

EIDT: Acutally, it looks like another member has them installed: topic21653.html

Any reason to believe that those Honda PCX levers at ScooterWorks would even mount on a Buddy?

Nope. And no reason to believe they won't without asking. That's why I suggested the OP call Scooterworks directly. Just trying to help. Heck Pete, you even had a couple of posts on the thread I referenced for adjustable NCY brake levers on a 170i. But, I'm not sayin' the ones at Scooterworks would fit a Buddy; probably not. But it's a start for searching. Batgirl found hers on ebay.

Could check on these, too. And: "Email [email protected] with any questions about this or any of our other products."

Yeah, I check every so often looking around for the Bubu/Buddy version of the NCY adjustables. Wish I could read Chinese. :(

Thought about those fold-up levers that Scooterlounge had, but haven't looked in a while, and I don't remember anyone trying those out.
