Modern Buddy

I waited over a month for a prima windshield to come in to my dealership, but it's on back order indefinitely, so I decided to just order one myself and install it. The more I read on here the more I realized that most people do the install on their own, so I figured it looked easy enough and gave it a shot,
plus saving on labor for a simple job seemed pretty sweet, but im pretty sure this windscreen is not compatible with the 2013 Buddy50 because the part that goes into the mirror slot seemed really snug in there, and the mirrors wouldn't even screw in to the other side. After 2 hours of trying to screw the mirror in, I gave up, and it seems that those 2 hours of trying to screw in a mirror that obviously did not fit tore up the threads or something, because I spent a third hour trying to get the mirror back into the scooter. I know about the reverse thread, but neither way seemed to hold the mirror.
Anyone else have this problem, or am I just the lucky one?

So no windscreen for me, and no scooter for me, unless I plan on riding without a right mirror. Am pretty bummed because my 12 hour shifts at work became a whole lot less stressful when I got my Buddy. So bad work day for me tomorrow

My guess would be that somewhere in the course of trying to put in the right mirror clockwise and counter clockwise, the threads have been damaged. You might try to tap the right one out but you would need a left-hand tap. Another choice is to replace the casting on the right side.

Went to the shop and they confirmed that scooter works sent a part that is not compatible with my scooter. Unsure how that happened because the site says it is compatible with the buddy. The incompatible part tore up the threading so need to completely replace that part and hope the shop has the right part in for the windscreen. I'm basically going to pay the cost of the windscreen to fix it, so I pretty much bought 2 windscreens. Need to get in touch with scooter works now about sending me the wrong piece.

I just put one of these on my Buddy 150. Also installed one on a Zuma 125 few years back. Great shield 12" high just right. The left hand thread bugger up can oft be cured with a tap rented from your local auto parts place. Jus take the mirror to see what size ya need. My Buddy came with after market mirrors with righ to left thread adapters. What a pain. I should-a locktite the adapter to mirror first and let it set before trying to tighten and adjust the mirrors. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/ ... hield.aspx
