I just changed out the choke/auto bystarter on my scooter and documented the process for y'all. Shall we begin?
Remove the "pet carrier" by taking out the four bolts that hold it in. (no photo for this... should be pretty self explanatory)
Locate the Auto bystarter - the object of our desire.

Remove the cap to the auto bystarter.

Locate the power connector for the auto bystarter. It's on the other side of the scooter towards the top.

Disconnect the power lead. I tied a bit or string to the lead so that I could use it to help thread the new cable back thru the other wires.

Remove the auto bystarter. It's held on with one hex screw, highlighted in red.

a: The auto bystarter removed.

Take the brass retention flange off the old auto bystarter, and put it on the new one. Place the new auto bystarter in position and screw it in place.

Thread the power cable and connecter back thru all of the wiring - remember that string I used? Reconnect the power plug.

Put the cap back on the new auto bystarter, replace the "pet carrier" and you're done.
