Hey guys, after letting my scooter sit for 8 months

I went to start it the battery was dead

. I bought a charger, but it won't take a charge now

. So, my next option is to buy another battery. Any good advice on which brand to get? Also if I order one I'll have to add the acid myself, is this an easy process? Any help and advice would be appriciated. I measured the the battery box on my scoot and the deminsions are: 6"L 31/4"W 31/2"H. Thanx

.

If you have a local BatteriesPlus store, you should be able to get a replacement. Same at most motorcycle shops and some WalMart, etc. places that sell lawn tractors. If you're not buying a specific model, make sure you get the same-or-better ampere-hours and physical configuration (+/- terminals on the correct side).

Check out your nearest Batteries Plus store. If they don't have it in stock (and they should) they can order one for you. And, if it needs it, they'll add the acid for you!

Do a search on MB; there's a lot of threads about batteries and stepping up to a little more amperage, too.
I went with a 9 amp (stock is 7) and bought a maintenance free battery for $30 on Amazon with an 18 month warranty.
Same battery is $35 now. It's slightly taller but fits just fine if you take down the plastic tabs on the battery compartment door just a little.
It's been a great battery for me. I've had it since October 2012 and I run heated grips in cold weather.

I went into town tonight and found a battery that will fit the scoot, it has to charge for a day so I'll post an update tommorrow. Ty for the advice, the battery is 9ah not the 7ah.
