Seeing in the rain
Hello all,
This evening i got stuck in the rain for the first time and the only problem I had was that with my visor of my full face helmet down I just couldnt see no matter how much i wiped. I ended up riding with the visor up and just getting my face wet. I know i have seen bikers on the highway in the rain so there must be some trick. Any ideas?

For most I apply it few times a year. I even bought the window cleaner with rainx in it for cleaning it.
works great on out side windows of a house as well.

Try Plexus or an acrylic cleaner/polish like LP Polish. Rain-X has acetone in it, so try it on a small spot before going all out with it - it can damage some plastics. I love Rain-X on my car windshield.
On edit: Thinking about your question, I checked out the Turtle Wax ICE liquid wax I have been using on the Buddy. Seeing as how it is safe for use on plastics, and liking how slick and shiny it makes the plastics on the Buddy, I put a coat on my visor to test it. It seems to work pretty much as good as anything else; a light spray of water beads right up, and a slight tilt of the helmet made the water run straight off. Cool! One product, more uses.

I've always had the same problem for 40+ years..You can get anti-fog shields, or use the above suggestions...but it's just something that's going to happen....at least I've never found a cure....

First gear even says that little thumb squeegee as an add-on you can buy seperate.
I like a spray on anti-fog like Plexus or slipstreamer. If you get in the habit of cleaning your faceshield with these things its always on there. And the water just runs off. I ALwAYS clean my helmet with that stuff

I use plexus both on my helmet visor and on my windscreen; in the winter, you may want to also use an actual anti-fog agent also, but plexus is great otherwise and cheap on Amazon.CapnK wrote:Try Plexus or an acrylic cleaner/polish like LP Polish. I actually don't know. I buy it on Amazon because it is cheaper, and you can get 2-packs and stuff... I usually keep one can inside and one can in my pet carrier for emergency cleanings (it also removes bug splatter and other mess). I am sure you can give the store a call and ask... also, your local scooter or MC dealer may carry it.Maximus53 wrote:I knew there was a trick! Is Plexus something you can pickup at a hardware store or autoparts store?
Thanks for all the info!!
