Starter Drags, Then Gains Momentum

Post by robindean »

Hi all.

2008 Buddy 125 here.

The problem I'm faced with is that when I go to start 'er up:

1) the starter cries to a halt after a single rotation

2) I don't let go of anything and keep it "trying"

3) the starter rolls again, halt

4) starter gets spinning and eventually the governor kicks in for a warm up.

... anyone else deal with this before? What am I up against?

Low battery, I'd guess.

What ^^ said (though it is *very* remotely possible that one or both of your battery terminal is corroded).

Yeah, definitely check for loose battery cables and/or corrosion first. And check the ground cable (I assume a Buddy has one).
