10/15/as fast as the scooter will go without hitting anything. I ride in California so anything remotely splittable gets it. Is splittable even a word?
It is now. So be safe, but be honest with us and with yourself

LOLWUT?
I definitely ride in that top percentile of speed. Maybe I feel I got something to prove (around here scooter = 50cc DUI), or maybe I just like to go fast.
I can't say I really pay attention to speed limits - I ride what I feel is a safe speed. Besides, the speedo is that accurate and what cop pulls a scooter over for speeding?

Haters, that's who!
I got pulled over for speeding a while back. No ticket, though. 45 mph road and he said I was "11 over". Whatever. All the other cars around me were going just as fast. Well, almost as fast I guess. I do go faster on my scooter than I would normally go in my truck.

My truck reads slow and my scooter reads fast. I'm always confused.
I try to stay with the flow of traffic. Sometimes I speed up or slow down to get out of someone's blind spot or to put myself in a position where my view is not impeded.
It depends on road and traffic conditions, and I stay with traffic generally. But all else being equal I could be going 45 bmph in a 30 zone, and 65 bmph in a 50 zone.
Because of the steering wheel I can't see the speedometer on my Porsche 911 between 60 and 160 so I never know how fast I'm going. On the scooters, it's probably something less.

I'm not saying I ever go over the speed limit... but if this evening, hypothetically, I got brave enough to take my Blackjack on the freeway, I may have hit 66mph as measured by GPS.

Pretty much what I always think.
When I ride with my son, he typically will admonish me to "watch it" if I'm riding over the limit and he's following, he figures he'll be the one pulled over being on the sport bike, not me on the scoot....
A few years ago a cop followed me into a convenience store parking lot, I had been on a relatively curvy 2 lane rural-ish road about 10+/- over, I had to pee. When I came out of the rest room he was more impressed that a scooter could handle that road at all let alone 'exceed' on it.
Last I heard, said same Patrol Officer is commuting on a Buddy Itialia.....

I automatically expect my scooter speedometers to be 5 miles fast, So if the
speedo says 60 I figure I am doing 55. Since all my riding is on county 2 lane roads if I see a string of cars behind me I pull overt asap to let them go ahead. 98% of the drivers around here will drop back and let you have some space if you are slower. In the 2 small towns that I ride in everyone seems to
be considerate of motorcycle sand scooter riders. Just good ol Southern courtesy!
I was thinking about this the other day. I have definite and different speed comfort zones depending on the particular bike I'm riding.
While I can get the Buddy up to 55 at WOT, I'm more comfortable in the 45-50 range.
On the midsized Honda, 70 mph is about where my comfort level ends. I don't have a fairing or windshield on that bike, so that factors into things. I also think the Shadow needs a 6th gear, but that's another story.
The Kawasaki is essentially fully loaded and I've can cruise comfortably at 90, although I rarely keep it there for long because of safety and financial (speeding ticket) concerns. 70 to 75 is more typical there.

My TGB lazor 150 is happy between 55-60, the hack 45-50, can hit 55 on the flats, the 170i is just getting broken in, running at 60, can hit 65 BMPH but
prefer 60. That is my comfort level.

Maybe not pulled over but someone on facebook got a lovely pic of his b-hind via speed camera when he was rolling down the road on his beloved Stella. It was an expensive pic but maybe so epic it was worth the $$$$
I am not a scooter snob.
I am a scooter connoisseur
I am definitely a "go with the flow" type as well. It probably one of the biggest safety behaviors riders can have. Too fast or too slow compared to traffic is just asking for problems.
