At the Cambridge Public Library in Cambridge, Mass. this afternoon. I started parking my scooter in the underground parking lot since it is permit parking all over the place.
They assured me that the gate was an optical gate (as opposed to weight) and a few days ago I didn't have a problem. Today, the scooter didn't trigger the gate to open -- maybe because it was raining. Luckily I was able to drive around it, but getting stuck in a garage with a gate that refuses to open freaks me out a little.

It wasn't a problem at the library, but I got stuck in a hospital parking garage once. They built concrete barriers around the gates to prevent people from going around them. They guy at the window didn't have authorization to override the gate and open it manually so we had to wait until his supervisor came over with a key.

If you want to know where a road leads, ask someone on their way back.
