Can you jump start a scooter with another scooter using jumper cables if both are 12 volt batteries?

Probably all but the injected models..... wouldn't see why not...but there may be a reason you couldn't....

the injected models should work as well .. 12v is 12v the scooter doesnot care where it comes from .

With jumpstarting, you're effectively just hooking one vehicle up to the other one's battery. If the good battery can put out enough current, that's all it takes.

When you're doing it with two similar vehicles, you want one of them to be running, however, so you don't run the good battery down (starting one vehicle, then the other), and also to overcome the "power sucking" nature of the dead battery.

When jumping a scooter from a car, having the car running isn't necessary because it doesn't take much current to start a scooter. It's also a little risky, because the alternator on the car can put out too much current and blow a fuse on the scooter. The same thing could happen if you successfully jumped a car from a scooter (once the car started running and putting out electricity).

I've been looking into making something like this for a while, a scooter to scooter jumper cable with a built in accessory port, in case you need to get a jump from a car you use the accessory port rather than the battery.

Speaking of, I need to get some cables, my scoot has no kick start, my GF's does... they'll definitely come in handy when least expected.

Battery-to-battery is no problem, but you won't be able to jump start through the accessory jack. It's only fused for 1 amp. Starter will blow that instantly.

There are current-limited charging-only cables that go jack-to-jack, but they're only for slow charging, not cranking.

I don't know what I was thinking....I started thinking bump starting with the FI models..... of course battery to battery would work on the FI models..

With a car, don't have the car running. The voltage from the alternator even at idle can be to high.
