I've decided to go with a custom paint job on at least one of my bikes. That being said, I'm not exactly the artistic type. I know the general theme, the Chicago Blackhawks (hockey), but as far as a specific design, I'm clueless as to how to go about that. I'm assuming you get some professional guidance, but again, I have no idea how/where to start.
I was at a large MC rally yesterday and talked to a custom paint outfit. They essentially said they can do just about anything, but I'd be better off bringing them a design vs. leaving them to their own devices.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob -
If it's the Buddy you are painting, after looking at that team logo, I'd consider making the major body panels black and tan colored (look at an International for guidance) like the skin and hair of the indian, and have the feathers & head added as details, or use the colors from those asstripes/pinstripes. Here is a rough idea of what I am talking about:

Good luck!

Thanks for the idea and example. Actually I was looking at one of the MCs and going with a red base color and air painted team logo(s) type thing, but have considered doing up the scoot as well. My wife rides the scoot more than I do these days, so I have to work on her buy in.CapnK wrote:Hi Rob -

I just noticed you're from Georgetown, SC. We have a plant in that area and I've spend some time out that way during our MB (better clarify, that's Myrtle Beach not Modern Buddy

Now you have me thinking. We're definitely a Purdue family, so with the black scoot, I'm well on the way to a Purdue scoot. Now, I back to finding an artistic type to help with the design.Dooglas wrote:I like the two color look on the Buddy International series. There are many other two color combinations that could be done in that way. College or team colors are examples. Black and yellow is a real eye catcher. The sky is the limit.
Thanks,
