With the news that the auto Stella will be a direct import of the LML 125, and not the 150cc as was thought, it leads me to the question of why -

I saw a graphic of an automatic LML 125 that showed an engine hung at an extreme angle in the body. I am guessing that there is no room for an additional 25cc's. Is it really that big of a difference?

Meaning, a BBK would not work either?

The engine is at a rather extreme angle and the centerline is rather high in the chassis.
It is also mounted on the left side.
You'll also note there are several additional cooling air paths for the engine.
You will be able to see two air inlets under the floorboard towards the front.
Look at the LML Italia site for some fairly detailed photos.

According the folks at Scooterworks, the test mule they were riding for a few weeks was significantly faster than the 150 4t manual from an acceleration standpoint.........most likely related to the variator/final drive gearing combination.

The European Auto has a ECM that moniters engine temperature, throttle position, and a couple other things lost in my memory.

I see reviews online claiming top speeds of 60mph, GPS indicated.

Possibly price to be at or less than 3k....

I can see a 2 stroke Stella and a Star in my stable one day.

Scootering Magagine described the LML as 'a very decent tool for traffic-heavy commuting work'. In the test, the Star Automatic achieved a 'thoroughly respectable 76.5mpg despite being held full throttle almost permanently.'

They go on to say 'that the Star Auto is 'the best scooter that the Indian firm has built so far, certainly for urban use.'

I was looking at a french review yesterday claiming it had 11hp. So i'm guessing they're squeezing all they can out of that 125 engine, I think the buddy gets 9.5ish? I'm curious to test drive one when they come out, i'd love an steel body with a cvt, damn the "purists".

Interesting - the CVT is made by Adler - an Italian company... so we have...

Italian styling,
Italian transmission,
Italian tooling.

It would need a fuel pump to deliver fuel from the bottom of the tank to the carb?

That's a good guess, I don't know....
If you look under the black box, do you see a clear fuel line?

Also - personally I would ditch the fake tire cover on mine if the cowl covers up the battery. I think it takes away from the overall appearace...

At worse, paint it 100% black.

Mechanically a Vespa GTS that looks like a plastic bodied Lambretta. That is either really good, or really bad - depending on your point of view.

Looks kinda small. I read somewhere the tank holds 7L. My guess, is that the fuel cap on the seat feeds directly down to the tank suggested by BeefSupreme... Look at the first picture I posted - It looks like the valve cover is on that black hump in the area you circled.

Raven - I lived in MPLS for 5 years by Loring Square. Good memories.

As I look harder at the pictures that would be a tiny tank, so it might just be a fake tank to cover the motor.

Gas tank is listed at "9.5 litres (including 2 litres reserve)". That's 2.5 gallons plus 1/2 gallon reserve.
