More foot pegs
I would like to thank jd for the info and idea for foot pegs. THANK YOU!
My list of materials is about the same as what jb had only I made mine different. MATERIALS
3/16 X 1in. X 4 foot is stainless steel flat iron. (Free local junk yard)
Foot pegs, local bike shop. Same price as his, but no shipping!
Longer metric bolts. (M6-1.0x 30 mm) Auto Zone.
Small pieces of Velcro.

Now the fun part. Measures, cut, bend the center piece. Measured from different points to get the bolt down holes right. Drill holes 2 sizes bigger to allow for a little adjustment.

Did not like where my feet were going to be, so I cut 2 pieces 7 inches long wielded then to the cross piece. Next thing they were a little to low, so I notched the 7 in. pieces and bent them up a little. Next the pegs slanted down a little so I twisted them up a little. Then said that’s good enough, and welded then solid where I had notched them. Work grate! Like jd said you can not put a lot of weight on them, but they are grate for stretching out your legs.

The Velcro went in the inside of the bend of the cross piece, so nothing would scuff the plastic. I am enclosing pictures from FLICKER, hope they turn out.

Huh. Must be some policy in place here at work. Doesn't show 'em in IE, either. Strange cuz I see other images in posts on MB.

These are, of course, much better than the ones I installed. Unfortunately for me, they require more mechanical skill and equipment than I possess.

Very cool! Since you are handy with a welder, I wonder if adding another piece of metal, bent like in the following picture, and welded on to both ends, would make it even more stable. Seems like the new piece wouldn't need to be bolted any where else either, as the floor board would be the downward support it would need.

I'd like to see someone make pegs to go over the passenger footrest (the silvery plastic part). I ride my Honda Elite with my feet on the passenger pegs, and I can't ride it any other way.

Seems to me it would just need a thick sheet of aluminum cut out, two holes for the bolts.

These are also commercially available.

I was thinking of extending the passenger footrests out about 6 inches. The footrests you showed does not have the extension and is higher up.

If you have a chance - check out the Elite 80. You'll see what I mean. I'll try and find a picture.

The part that flips down for the passengers - love them for my feet!
