Long treks on my 125
All right, so I just picked up my Buddy 125 and I'm going to start breaking it in. Once I do so, once every two months or so I generally have to make a 100-200 mile drive for work. Will the little guy be able to handle that? Are there any tips in doing so, such as coasting at a certain mph? Don't want to put too much stress on him. Thanks a ton.

I've ridden my 125 on many 100+ mile trips through the southern California mountains and hi winds. One grade I've done a number of times is 22%. Generally when climbing I'm riding wide open throttle. Almost 10,000 miles and zero problems. Like they say, break it in using a method you are comfortable with and then ride it like you stole it.

The pain is temporary,
but the glory is forever!

I've done 100-200 mile rides on my 50cc, so the 125cc can definitely handle it. Take your time. You should stop and give both yourself and the engine a short rest every time you refill the gas tank, as much for safety and comfort as anything.

If you're spending a lot of time at wide open throttle, or even cruising in the 55mph range, best to stop and let the engine cool for a while every 100 miles or 90 minutes or so, whichever comes first.
If you're doing a lot of that sort of riding, it's more important to stick to the maintenance schedule pretty rigorously. Change your engine oil every 2K, gear oil every 4K.

obviously dress for potential weather, south Florida being primarily rain. Add a roadside assistance coverage on your insurance policy. I think I paid an extra $18 a year for coverage on 2 scooters through GEICO. They'll tow up to 75 miles to a shop. The Buddy is very capable, I just did a 150 mile group ride yesterday and it was raining the entire time.
