Ordered a 125 automatic and new to the forum

Post by Elder Scoot »

I've been riding since 1965 and have owned many, many (maybe too many) bikes of different types and makes. About 6 years ago I got into scooters and I am hooked. I currently own a BMW C600 Sport and found myself so covered up in high tech I missed the simpler path. I always loved the Stella but did not enjoy the hand shifter. When I found out that Genuine might import the 125 auto I ordered on from my dealer. He told me last week he had placed the order and I should be seeing the bike in a month or two - Candy Apple Red. I saw the order form and new dealer book and yes they are being imported. Oddly - nothing yet on Genuine's site. I look forward to swapping information with y'all (I live in Texas).

Nice! I look forward to hearing about the autostella and it's performance. It and the Hooligan are on the list of things I might buy in 10 years when my current scoots are spent :P.

The auto 125 is being well recieved in the UK anf France.
There have been a few teething problems but nothing of consequence.

Reports from there indicate it'll whip a Stella 150.....ouch!

Congrats and good luck!

Thanks Robbie. The specs posted by LML show the 125 to have the same horsepower as the 150, be about 20 lbs. lighter, and have a better top end.

I think you meant to direct the question to Christophers.....I think he once said it was his fathers....don't quote me on that.

I think that is a Dream...Stamped steel chassis.
Available as a 150, 160, 250, 305......all single carb.
Designations for Dreams all began as CA.....Like a CA-305...Tank label would have said '300'.

Enouph out of me...lets hear from Christophers.

That's probably more info than I know about the bike. The original photo isn't high enough resolution to make out any specific markings. It was my dad's. Unfortunately he sold it long before I was around.

You're right it is the Dream model. I couldn't tell on the smaller picture. I had a 1967 CB 160 - the "sportier" model. Honda made a good looking bike even back then.

I think it's a CA-series, maybe a CA95. There are some similar-looking Honda Benlys with C, CA, CB, CD, CS model names. The CAs had the big, curvy fenders like that.

Eric,
Yep you're on the right track....the CA-92 was the 250, the CA-95 was the 305.

I think....this is a 305....I don't believe the 250 had the silver triangular carb cover behind the cooling fins that this one has.
