notice the fact that he's video taping himself with the one hand, leaving only the front brake to stop with, and then basically blames the scooter "moped" for locking up the front and tossing him off. gotta love people.

Every year a series of awards termed the "Darwin Awards" are presented to folks who have performed actions so outrageous or ill advised that they should best removed from the gene pool for the good of the rest of us. Perhaps this could be a nominee. (course, you evolutionary biologists know that suggests that you should terminate your lineage, one way or the other, usually by the act you committed)

i watched without the sound and was beginning to think he'd lost his right leg; thank goodness he brought it into the frame.

scully, I clicked it off--I couldn't bear to watch because I thought he lost his lower leg. Thanks for stating he didn't.

I'm thinking he may have had second thoughts on riding with his camera.

I think in the darwin awards the person has to kill themselves from their stupidity.

for this guy it's only a matter of time.

Obviously he was too busy monkey-ing around with the camera in his left hand and didn't see the approaching turn until it was too late. He rolled off the throttle and grabbed a handful of front brake as he entered the turn.

Why this makes me mad:

1- The guy is obviously American, the Aussies have trouble respecting us as it is...this guy aint helping.

2- He's obviously an idiot. Yet our customs and immigration system allowed him to leave home. We really need to tighten things up.

3- Riding gear - If you're gonna be dumb, dress for it.

4- MOPED, yep he said the "M" word, and he'll probably be the guy who continues to diss "mopeds" and the people who ride them even though one has totally kicked his ass.

5- It only takes 49cc's to attract a dope...fortunately it only takes 49cc's to detect one too.

I do not think the turn had anything to do with it. From what I can see, it looks like the DUMBASS just drove off the road.

I did the same move once on my mountain bike. A bee flew into my shirt. I used my right hand to get rid of the bee and grabbed a handfull of front brake at the same time. I'm pretty sure I made the same sounds while I was on the ground. Three cheers for the guy who stopped to check him out. 4-5 cagers sped past until one good sam had the decency to stop.
