Some empty store fronts at the local market have finally been occupied by a Dollar Tree store. There used to be a dollar store about 15 years ago, but the people who owned it mismanaged it and it sat empty until now.

Now most of the stock is just plain and simple crap, but if you look carefully you can find a good deal on name brands. So I have been frequenting the store to buy small things.
Last night I was in to buy some locally made hotdog's and some other small items for dinner.
As I made my way to the register, there was another person already at the only checkout open.
He was fumbling around in his pockets trying to come up with enough change to pay for the one item he was buying. After coming up short he then tried to use his debit card to pay, but since the cashier had already finalized the transaction the register said no to the debit.
During all this I was going through my own pockets getting my monies ready.
After the nix sale from the register, I could see the frustration on the guys face as he kept apologizing to the cashier saying that he thought he had the dollar and he was sorry to have caused a slow down at the register.
Having been in the same predicament myself a few times, I had exactly one paper dollar a ten and a twenty. Too which I grabbed the dollar and handed it to the guy.
A look of confusion and then utter elation as he realized that he didn't have to leave empty handed, thanking me profusely for the dollar.
Its the small things in life that make a person, and just one gesture of kindness can move mountains (or at least a molehill). :D

Small acts of charity speak volumes about us. Good for you. What a better world it would be if every one was willing to be considerate of others.

Its not the first time I've done this sort of thing. Last time it was for a woman that wanted a cup of coffee. With all the craziness going on these days, I just can't let things like this go by me and continue cold hearted and oblivious through life.

I feel your kindess vibe. I have a bicycle guy that I look out for. I keep his beach cruiser in top shape for him and help with upkeep cost. It seems strange to me that a $20 part could be that out of reach for someone, and when thats your only transportation, it is a big deal. Now I have been helping someone else fix their Hyosung Sense scooter. Only charge them for the tolls to get out there and back. The parts are just extras sitting around from a sold scoot, so I can thin out the overstock and help another person. My wife finds it kinda interesting, as Im not very outgoing in person and listen to very "negative, hate filled music" all the time, her words-not mine. As easy as it is to turn away I still attempt to do my part.
