Hi There,
I have a 2006 Buddy Genuine that I left outside all winter. I periodically checked it and it worked all winter long. Just my luck, now that the weather is becoming nice, it will not start. It will not start with the start button and it will not start with the kick starter (although I have never had to use the kick starter before so I can't be sure it's not my form). I replaced the battery and that was not the problem. Today I traced the wires from the battery to the regulator and they all looked fine. The only thing odd that I noticed inside the front panel was a yellow wire with a black tracer that did not connect to anything on the end I could see. However, I do not see a yellow wire with a black tracer in the wire diagram. I have not checked the starter. Honestly, I don't know where to find it or what to do with it if I found it.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Julie

Re: Buddy Genuine 2006 - Won't Start
Don't worry about that wire. (EDIT: I totally misread your OP about the battery. Sorry.) Okay, what you were trying to get at is that the starter will turn the scooter over, but it won't start. And, though you didn't mention it, I assume you haven't missed the Kill Switch or forgotten to pull the brake in when starting. All right, next up, is the carb. Did you use Sea Foam in your gas before you put it up for the winter? Either way, pull your air filter out, spray a little "Fast Start" into the intake, try the electric start, and see what happens. If it's just fuel starved, it will start and run for a few seconds on the Fast Start fumes and that will quickly tell you a lot about where to look.zipilot wrote:Hi There,

Do you know if the sparkplug is actually sparking? The scooter is most likely either having a fuel or a spark issue.
After trying to start it you might pull the sparkplug out, and see if it smells strongly of gas. If it does, you are getting fuel but spark may be the problem. If it doesn't smell like gas then there is a fuel delivery problem.
