Touch Up Paint

I sold my Buddy 50 in Iowa last year before I moved to Minnesota. Now that I am back in a house, I just purchased another Buddy 50. This one is a 2006 and is orange with the tan/brown seat and has a basket on the front. The previous owner dropped it on the left side and it has some deep scratches in the body panel on the back by the seat. I cleaned it full blast this weekend including wash, clay bar, polish and wax. It turned out awesome but those deep scratches are still there. Any idea where I can get touchup paint that is a perfect match?

Thanks for the link. I took a look at it, and Genuine Scooter wasn't listed. I am sure they have something super close, but I really want it to be factory identical, because if the shade doesn't match, it will look worse than it does now. Any places we can get touch ups paint made specifically to the color I need?

I saw that on their website. I was hoping there were other spots because the local dealer here is quite a bit out of my way and I'd have to make a dedicated trip for just that. Plus, I am sure I could find enough stuff to buy online that it would make it worth the order online. I guess driving there is what I'll have to do.

A local auto body shop should be able to do a paint match if you bring your scoot in so they can see the color. Worth investigating.

I bought my buddy used, it had a few small scratches on it from the get go. They aren't all that noticeable except for one by the head lamp. Good thing about the buddys being plastic is that a scratch will not be a site for rust to begin. I actually found some nail polish that was a color match.

Plus I like this statement from the 'FAQ' statement.
"Conveniently placed stickers also work wonders!"
(Not that I've done it, but.....)

This is a good tip. You have an eight year old scooter and the chances of a bottle of touch-up paint being a "perfect" match are very low. The other thing to do is turn it into a two tone. Remove the damaged panel and any complementary ones to produce the desired effect. Fill the scratches. Prep and paint the panels (rattle can for plastic works fine), and the bike looks better than new.

Our company has touch up paint for Genuine Stellas and Buddy colors!

We have 8 colors for the buddy
Dealers are able to order these colors or you can contact me if you have any questions about whats available

We carry 12 oz Aerosols and half ounce pens and they last 3 years
so they dont dry up like some of the older touch up paints in jars

I found Genuine paint on ebay. It was leftover from a shop. It couldn't hurt to check.

For anyone who is still following the original thread - the older orange Buddy's with brown seat and grip are the color called "Sunset Orange". The newer ones with black seat and grips are a brighter color called "Tangerine". I notice the above website lists both (as well as "Dijon" which is a Stella color).
