Ever haven't to add oil?

Post by Tomato Bisque »

Buddy had his 2k service/oil change and is now at 3k. I checked oil about month ago- all good. Now it's LOW, like at the tip of the stick. I did warm him up a few minutes before checking btw.

I only thought you had to add oil if there was a leak or problem? The manual says add or change oil when light goes on at dash. But the manual doesn't really specify for the 170 which is confusing. I guess I'll pick up some oil and add but it makes me nervous- any ideas. Thanks btw for all the help I've received in this site.

Okay in case there's anyone out there as ignorant as I am....

Apparently you've got to test oil level when using center stand vs side stand. All is well now.

Does the 170i have an oil light? Of the others, only the 50cc has an oil light, which indicates when its two-stroke oil reservoir is low. For sure the 125 and 150 do not have crankcase-low (or pressure-low) lights.
