Modern Buddy

I just moved from Savannah to New York and rode my Buddy50 for the first time recently and she keeps dying! I literally have to give her a little gas all the time to keep her running. At first the electric start wouldn't work, so I was using the kick start, but now the electric start works if I give a little gas. If I let go of the throttle, she shuts off. I rode a few places with my fiance and didn't have to actually turn the key to get her to shut off, she just dies on her own. Is this a battery issue from being out in the cold all winter, or do I need to adjust the idle? Oh, and I put fresh gas and seafoam before taking her out.

It isn't the battery. Once the engine is running, the battery is just another passenger, and doesn't contribute in any way to the ride (other than operating the blinkers and such).

Try adjusting the idle, to give it a little more gas. Depending on how many miles it has on it, it could also be a worn-out spark plug, which is pretty easy (and inexpensive) to try replacing.

I had problems w the idle when I first bought her, wonder if that's it again!
She has 4,006 miles on her. I have to register her then I will ride her to the shop! Waiting on a new title because the NY DMV didn't like the GA title!

Seems to me like the effects of storage on the fuel and the carb. Drain the remaining fuel and change to fresh gas if you haven't already. Run a tank or two with Seafoam additive through the bike to clean it out. If the problem doesn't go away, I'd say it is time to have the carb cleaned.
