Brake Light modulator connectors Buddy 125

Post by opie1965 »

Does anyone know where I can get these connectors for my Buddy 125 brake light? I want to clip in a brake light modulator so that I don't have to splice or cut the original wires. Thanks! :)

The Buddy uses 0.110" terminals for the brake light connections. Most decent auto parts or electronics stores will have these available.

I have used the FL2S-10A modulator for several installations: http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo ... e/194/844/

Remove the stock terminals for the brake light from the nylon housing by pressing the locking tab and pulling the terminals out of the housing, then crimp on a couple new terminals (make sure to pay attention to the orientation of the terminals) and make your connections inline on the modulator.

Since this is a positive (+12V) electrical connection, be sure to cover any exposed parts of the terminals with heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.

If you have any trouble finding the terminals, let me know and I can make you an adapter wire. I would offer to sell you the terminals separately, but the type I use require a special crimp tool to install.

Thanks so much, Jay!
I'll check out the local auto parts store today and get the right connectors.
I should have the modulator today. If I'm unable to find them I'll get in contact with you to buy the adapter you make. Thanks, again!

My Kisan modulator came with the correct connectors. Truly, plug and play.

You wouldn't happen to know the model number of that plug and play modulator would you? I just left an email with Kisan inquiring about it but they're done for the day. I'm trying to make this as simple as possible. Thanks.

I should also add that my 2012 Buddy 125 has an LED brake light, not halogen. This should be perfect for a brake light modulator but I think Kisan only has the kits for halogen bulbs. That's all I can find for now.

I don't remember any model number. I just told Kisan it was for the Buddy 125. That was about 6 years ago.
