So I did a search in the forums and have found problems similar to mine, but not quite the same...so looking for some advice.
Recently bought a 2009 Vespa LX 50 with ~1,500 miles on it. Took it in to a mechanic about 4 months ago right after a bought it for routine maintenance. However, recently when I start it in the morning I'll let it idle high and wait for it to idle low and then drive off. If I have to stop within the first few minutes it'll die. And then has trouble starting again. I can hear that when I give it gas it starts to bog down a bit too. This doesn't happen every time though, only once a week or so (When I drive it 5 times a week). Sometimes when it is finished idling high and starts idling low it seems as if it's idling too low as the lights start dimming. Again, this is only when I first start it in the morning, after riding it for a bit and even if I start it in the afternoon it doesn't do any this. I'm in Florida too, so don't think cold weather is a factor.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of what I could do? I don't have many tools or space unfortunately so most likely will have to take it in. I just don't want to take it to a mechanic and have them charge me an arm and a leg because they think they can. Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

First, it could be that the idle is just set too low. Easy to fix if you have a screwdriver.
Other possibilities:
Clogged fuel filter
Kinked fuel hose or other supply issue
Auto choke is bad
Bad voltage regulator
Loose electrical connection
Carburetor issue, such as blocked jet as suggested above
Bad spark plug
Loose spark plug cap
Oh, is your evap system still connected? That should be ditched ASAP!
