Broken deadlight lens covers Buddy 125

Post by opie1965 »

Hi everyone,

I recently installed some amazingly bright new 1156 LEDs in my deadlights (I have the running light kit installed) and I broke off the plastic tabs on both lenses. Nothing major, the screw still keeps the lenses on but I'd feel better if I could replace them. In my opinion it's a lousy design on the lenses, anyway. They should have a screw at the top AND bottom as well. I'm having trouble finding a source for these lenses. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Scooterloungeonline.com. One each, P/N P566C0100003 and P/N P556D0200003. I am laughing right now, as one is $1.16 and the other is $12.66. Now that's funny.

If you extract the lenses with the deadlights in place (screwed into the panel), you're probably going to break them. Extract the assembly from the panel first, much easier to remove the lens that way. Don't go prying with a screwdriver, just finesse it out.

They will get the parts to you in about 10 days. Unless they're backordered, in which case your guess is as good as mine.

Good luck.

Thanks, Benzo Mike. I really do appreciate it. I just sent them an email because like the scooter place down the street from me they're not open on Sundays and Mondays.

Got to love the random (totally) pricing. 1100% between (otherwise identical) left and right lenses. Good news here is SOME parts are INSANELY cheap, others pretty much spot-on (reference motorcycle/auto part pricing). FYI in addition to the crippling burden of maintaining/modifying 5 "bikes" (racing 4 of them) I also have a 550 RWHP supercharged pickup, a 380 RWHP GTO and a BMW. My life is 100% wrenching, all the time, when not working. And a little riding.
