I'm looking for a handheld tachometer for my scoot, and was wondering what the folks here used? I'm finding handheld tachs more difficult to locate than I had expected. I don't need a timing light, though if need be I'll settle.
I thought I'd go online, search for scooter tach and have literaly hundreds to choose from. I guess that's what I get for thinking.
Anyway, can anyone help me out?
Syd
Tach you very much

Here's just the thing:
http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/index.php
There are 2 versions, Standard and Commercial. The Standard version ($37) has different units for various engine types. The Commercial version ($65) can be programmed for different engines.
There's a tutorial on MV for installing one under the seat, but some people have mounted them on the headset using velcro and other methods.
The cool thing is there's not really any actual wiring. Just need to locate the spark plug wire, wrap the tach wire around it a few times, then attach a ground wire. No splicing or anything like that!
I've read that there are dial-type tachs you can mount but I've yet to find one.

Actually, I haven't yet. I have a free afternoon in a couple weeks so maybe I'll hop over to the dealer to check it out.Syd wrote:By the Way, did you ever get a chance to try out the HD200?
