Denver -- lock up?

Post by sunshinen »

I recently moved from Northern Virginia to Colorado, and even more recently moved from Lakewood to Denver (near Speer and Broadway).

For those in Denver, when you park around town do you lock your scooter to things?

It's garaged at home and on the Fed Center at work, so my day to day is pretty secure, but I'm wondering about stops for dinner, coffee, etc. Are there a lot of daytime/evening scooter heists in Denver? Do you lock your scooter everywhere you go?

If I'm going anywhere at night where I'll be inside for a while, I will usually ride my 50cc. And I will usually lock it up with a cable lock. Be it a Rockies' game, or into the Ogden or Gothic, I'll chain it up.

I always lock my scoot with a disc lock.

Glad to have you in the hood!

We're over at 1st and Santa Fe.

99% of the time you won't need to really worry ,but morons take stuff during the day or sports games all the time. Why? because they're bros. They don't even want it...

So I would always lock it up. if you can see it, a disc lock is probably fine. if it's going to be out of sight for a bit, I would chain it up. It's usually not an issue, but the police here don't have much sympathy when it does.

Lock your scooter to something immovable every time, everywhere. All it takes is one scumbag with a pick up or van to haul your scoot away.

Problem solved. Problem staying solved.

P.S. No, I'm not a fan of scooter thieves.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...
