I have owned a lot of scooters/mopeds over the years and its always a coin toss as to if they will count KM or miles.
I am looking at a 2008 Buddy 50cc tomorrow and I am wondering if I am looking at a 6000 miles bike (high by my standards) or a 3600 miles bike (middle aged and OK in my book).
Also these use the standard Minarelli style engine you see on a Zuma or a Vento Triton or whatever, right?
I owned a Rough House for a month or so a few years back and they are basically the same scooter with different plastic, right?

70,000 MILES ON BUDDY - GUINNESS WORLD RECORD!
Exciting News: Nick Pappas officially crossed the 70,000 mile mark on his Buddy 125! He’s riding his Buddy 125 70,000 miles to set a Guinness World Records record for most miles ridden on a scooter in 3 years! Nick changes his oil, washes and waxes every 1,000 miles, changes his filter every 2,000 miles and “guarantees no other scooter can out perform this scooter”.

So I take it they count miles?
125cc 4 stroke with highway miles has nothing to do with the longevity of a 50cc 2 stroke.
The seller wanted way too much for the scooter (non runner) so I had to leave it, but its good to know for future reference.
Do all Genuines count miles?

Here's a good rule, if the speedo has Kph on the Outside of Mph, it'll count Kms on the odometer. Mph outside of Kph speedos count in Miles.

Most Genuine's I've seen have MPH and their odometers tick off miles.
Are there Genuines up in Canada?

Eh, its a lot easier for a company to have a new backing to the speedo made for America than it is to redo the odometer system.
Examples of scooters that break the above rule.
Kymco Zx50
Eton Beamer
Vento Triton
TGB Key West
Tomos Targa
And those are just the ones I have seen this year that I can remember.
Also what Italjet did that speedo come from?
Italjet scooters are almost universally kickass.

That's off a Formula 50cc

Mine's a 180 Dragster.

The dragster 180 is a 180cc liquid cooled variated scooter with like a weird frame right?
Those things are incredible.
I have only heard of a handful in America.

It counts miles. Mine is a 2008. It has over 11,000 miles on it. Just pulled it out of the garage for the first time after a long long winter. I did not have a tender on it. It started immediately, first press of the button. These scooters can easlily reach 20,000 miles.
