New lights

I need to get a new battery so I guess now would be a good time to upgrade my lights.
The first thing I want to do is remove those ugly DOT lights that hang from the bars and reconnect the lights up front. I'd like to go LED all around and a HID to replace the headlamp. I figure the relay would need to be replaced as well.
Any suggestions as to what lights to go with? Brands? Part numbers? etc...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

While there's no problem electrically with activating the body turn signals and disabling/removing the underbar signals, be forewarned that a police officer or vehicle-inspection staffer (if there's such in your state) who had a bad burrito for lunch might fail the bike because the stock PGO body turn signals do not meet DOT specifications - they're too close together.

First of all, I have to say I love your location.
2nd, I've thought about the consequences of removing the DOT lights but I can't stand them. I've been looking at them for years and can't believe they would just slap a pair of lights on there and call it a day. The body panels around the lights unsnap all the time because the lights are pulling down the lower panel.
Personally, I don't think a cop would even notice. Vespa doesn't seem to have an issue with their signal placement and the rear signals are closer together than the fronts.

That is easy…
Read the link below and modify to work for you. Disconnect your blinkers (if you really don't want them and there is no concern of violating the DOT where you are riding **disclaimer**), and hook up your deadlights with the Amber LED bulbs listed as the front blinkers, use the rear LED bulbs as shown, get the blinker relay as shown to make them work. Get the new headlamp bulb while you are at it for better visibility.
Press the red button.
