Vapor Lock Issue?

Hi all, I have a 08 Buddy 150cc and it shuts down (unless I apply gas) at the bottom of steep hills. Additionally I have to apply gas when I start the Buddy or else it will turn off. I searched MD and it sort of sounds like a vapor lock issue however not as bad. There are 600 miles on it, I applied seafoam and recently changed the oil... any other suggestions??
As always, thanks!

Has the scooter sat at any point in it's lifetime?

It has to have had, an '08 with 600 miles.
I'm no mechanic but what I've learned form the 'learned ones' here on Modern Buddy it sounds as if a good carb cleaning is in order.
If it was the dreaded 'vapor lock' it would happen at any point, even at speed, not just when you describe. When it does occur, open your gas cap and listen for a 'whoosh' of air, letting pressure back into the tank. Ride a bit with the gas cap loose, this was recommended to me by those at Genuine. If that prevents the issue, vent or obtain a vented cap.

An '08 is getting up in scooter years, you'll want to have the carb cleaned and have new fuel lines and vacuum lines installed along with a new fuel filter. It's not an expensive job even if you bring it to a shop.

Got it. Thanks. Any carb cleaner you recommend?

I just use a good solvent. Seafoam works. I've also used pure naptha.
Note I am not a mechanic, though. FYI, Seafoam consists of Pale Oil 40-60%
Naphtha 20-25%
IPA 10-20%

I'm a big fan of K100, it works better than any out of the bottle cleaner I have ever used. Short of pulling the carb and cleaning by hand; thats the way to go.
IPA?

Don't bother putting an entire bottle of snake oil "cleaner" into your gas, you'll just make more work for your mechanic when they have to pump it all out.
