A buddy of mine recently got a Honda DN-01, (i think) Honda's first automatic motorcycle with a hydraulic clutch. I got the pleasure of riding it a few weeks ago and that transmission is pretty damn smooth, as smooth as a cvt, it was a blast to ride. I'm glad Honda is experimenting with putting it in different style bikes. It would be cool if they'd move that rear brake to the left handle, but the MC crowd might find that TOO scooterish and shy away.

The Honda DCT motorcycles have been getting better reviews than the CVT motorcycles, like the Aprilia Mana. If you don't need a liter sized engine, you can opt for the 700x with DCT. I don't think there is the CB500x is available with DCT.

the DN-01 is a bad model, too. they also made a VFR1200 sport bike with the DCT. Both are considered duds, though they work well mechanically. Heavy, slow, and overpriced. DN-01 still go for more than I paid for my CTX700.

The Africa Twin looks like another winner though. Probably too tall for me, but it's been highly anticipated.

I've nothing against shifting, but in commuter traffic, it's SOOO nice not to have to.

There's also the Honda CTX700 DCT and the NM4 DCT.

And let's not forget the model that started it all, the NC700X DCT

The engine and looks are nice, but the storage is utterly useless.

If you could find some crazy cheap one, it might be fun, but with all the plastic, it's not easy to maintenance, and is more of a gimmick.

My CTX is amazing though. I have the fully faired version.
