Where to get a Buddy 50 Stator?

Post by blaupunk »

I just got off the phone with scooterworks, but the person on the phone said they no longer carry OEM parts for Genuine scooters.

I like working with scooterworks, so I asked him if they had any after market replacements for a Buddy 50 Stator and Ignition coil, but he said they do not...

Does anyone know the best location to get quality parts for the Buddy 50? Hopefully by mail since the closest official dealer is like a 30-45 minute drive.

If you want OEM, I'd try www.scooterloungeonline.com or AF1. Or you might be able to find a compatible stator on ebay by searching "gy6 stator 50cc".
Some people can break a crowbar in a sandbox.

I have had good results obtaining Genuine parts thru AF1 and ScooterWest. I believe that Scooterworks no longer sells OEM Genuine parts as they were undercutting their own dealers. They would prefer (hint, hint) that you order the part from a local Genuine dealer.

This will work for you: I used it on a roughhouse 50. Part # for R50 and Buddy are the same. High quality, I had it in about 10 days, and was by far the cheapest out there. I would order the rectifier at the same time, and change them both.

Thank you so much everyone! I was debating if there are any known "change while you're in there" parts. (I own a 93 VW corrado... so I follow that mantra a LOT  ) At a minimum I wanted to do the stator and the coil.

I'm admittedly still learning 2 strokes as I go, but in the manual on the AF1 page (http://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdImag ... ddy-50.pdf) I don't see a rectifier in the document. Is it possibly under a different name?
