Best battery

I have a genuine buddy 125 and I need to replace my battery. I was wondering what the best battery is. I'm hoping not to spend too much on a battery. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

The "best" battery for your bike is not going to be cheap. I used to buy the more expensive premium brand batteries, but now I just buy the less expensive chinese sealed batteries off ebay for under $30. The key to long battery life is to keep your battery on a battery tender year round. Some of my batteries have lasted up to 7 years.

Look on Amazon, too. I bought a $30 AGM battery from there about a year ago and it's still working perfectly fine. Although, my scooter rarely sits more than a few days without being ridden, so I don't know how it will hold up to being left idle for long periods.

Batteries+, the retail store. Yes, you spend a bit more but they have a good warranty and you can go back to the store if you have a problem. If you dont have a Batteries+ then Wal Fart is your next bet. Again, no hassle warranty if you have a problem. I use both. Batt+ for the Buddy125 and Wal Fart for the Zuma 50cc scooters.

They are a little more cash, BUT a Yuasa is still worth the cash in my opinion. If you want it to last? A yuasa and a battery tender will double the life of most batteries.

Does anyone have a link or brand / model #, etc... (for a stella 2T though) I'd like one of those cheap, sealed AGM batteries, but want to know for sure the fit is perfect. The ones at batteries + near me are 1/2 inch too wide.

Since last September I've been running a Mighty Max YTZ10S battery. (https://www.mightymaxbattery.com/p34621 ... ttery.html). It's a higher capacity battery in the same size package as the OEM Buddy battery.

The price was right, much less than a YUASA of lower capacity. Still running strong with no sign of diminished capacity. For the price, even if it only last a couple of years, I'll be happy.

Looks bueno, thanks for posting. Unfortunately that appears to be the same size as others I've seen... 5.9" long. 2t Stella needs 5.5... won't fit in the scooter's battery tray. That site doesn't seem to have a replacement for the needed B9-B (or yb9-b)

This size seems to be easier to find. Maybe I should use my (ehem) vast metal-fab skills to make a new tray. I do believe it would still fit inside the spare

...unless anyone else has a stella- sized suggestion. I'll post a link if I find one myself.

It's light and doesn't need much maintenance. I've had it start reliably at sub 0 temps.

Nice. it appears the YT9A Scorpion 12v 130 CCA AGM is a spot-on match for a Stella but a bit more money... $47 + shipping.

I just ordered from Battery Sharks (http://www.batterysharks.com/SigmasTek- ... -125-k.htm)

I'll have to do some weldygrindy and make a new home for it, but it was only 35$ shipped and It's 12V w/ 10AH and 210CCA. So a bit more robust... we'll see how it works out.

Hmm, no you're right... hopefully I haven't taken this thread too far off the rails... the option I chose (along w most others') are all buddy-size.

in case anyone is curious... here's what I came up with. Lights are much brighter. starts like a total boss and fits perfectly in it's new home. We'll see how long this cheapo sealed battery lasts
