i have a Buddy 125 w/ Prima exhaust that was sitting for approx 1 year.
completely disassembled carb, cleaned and blew out all journals - everything passes air.
reassembled and installed carb. fires up and idles fine. with the airbox off it will rev but in higher RPMs sounds like it's misfiring.
as soon as i attach the stock airbox it will no longer rev but bog out. it will still idle fine.
it has the orange 'performance' coil and plug wire on it. (i find the only difference between these and stock GY6 coils is they're orange - the stock Buddy one is probably waaay better anyway)
i've had this same problem in the past with another 125 - went through the carb several times and just could get any love. finally i bunged on a new carb and it worked perfectly.
are these carbs just too finicky? once they go it's just all over with?
thanks!

I believe the stock MJ should be a #102. You're running a #92, the same as what I had in my 150 (which also should have been a #102). My engine was very lethargic and ran hot. I'm currently running a #118, but my engine is no longer stock. You have a presumably freer flowing exhaust, so your engine is probably running really lean now which gets worst at greater throttle openings. I'd start with a #102-105 MJ then check sparkplug color to fine tune the size.
My guess as to why the installed MJ in my scooter was smaller than PGO intended is in order to pass CA emissions laws.
