Might buy both of these since I can return them at my local walmart if i don't like them. If I like them, I will buy thread adapters.....

I'm testing a mirror that is $6 each from Walmart. It is the black one below. I like it better than the stock mirror. It shakes less and has better optics. I will order another one for the right side and an counterclockwise adapter.
Here is the adapter (just order one): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Mirr ... 2w&vxp=mtr
Here is the mirror (you need to order two): http://www.walmart.com/ip/46832237

Genuine and Yamaha love the reverse thread right mirror. Yes, C3 mirror will work the right side. And those Wally World mirrors look just like stock Yamaha Bug Eye Zuma mirrors, meaning no crappy adapter. Trust me, the adapters never stay tight enough, and you will always be messing with the mirror coming loose. My Zuma has RRGS mirrors on it, and no matter what we do the right mirror always comes loose. I know what your thinking, Thread Lock. Have fun with that idea. Been there, done that.

No I wasn't thinking thread lock. I was thinking lock washers. You're welcome....

After alot of experimenting with our Zuma's and Buddy's we know what works and what doesn't. The reverse thread on the right side leaves very few options. The Yamaha C3 mirrors are the best we have found. I have the Zuma round mirrors (like your Wally World find) on my old Buddy. To keep the right side RRGS mirror tight on the Zuma with the dreaded adapter we have tried split washers, wavy washers, star washers and other methods that always fail at the best possible time. Seems 12,000 RPM's at 60+ mph will test mirror adapters very well, but the RRGS mirrors are super sexy (and expensive!) so then are worth the hassle on the Zuma. Buy Yamaha mirrors and you wont have to learn about different kinds of washers, we already did the homework for you. You're welcome!

I just bought these mirrors on Amazon and they screwed right in no problem. They vibrate WAY less at idle and provide a lot more viewing area behind me. If I'm wearing something with baggy sleeves then my view behind still isn't the best, but if I have short sleeves/bare arms then I can see behind me perfectly. They also give my Buddy 125 a much less feminine look IMO. I think the skinny arms and small round mirrors of the stock pieces make the Buddy look more feminine than it needs to be. These are totally worth the money!

Good call. I'm not a lane splitter. I could see them being a problem for that!

My insults are ALWAYS in response to another person's insults, but you won't post their insults, will you? You are disingenuous. Oh and by the way, YOU are being confrontational too right now.iwannascoot wrote:The context was about your personal insults that are inappropriate, nothing else.mike932 wrote:I return insults. Did you scold the other guy for being rude and confrontational? Of course not. Because you are disingenuous. As for your "values", you are pretentious.iwannascoot wrote:From "quit your b*tchin" to "Your mother is a prostitute..." is rude and confrontational. There is no need for that on this forum or any forum I would want to associate with. I guess you were raised with different values than I was.
Sorry if I offended you with my personal opinion.
Billy
By the way, THE OTHER GUY said "quit your bitchin".

All Im saying is sometimes being cheap is not always the best way to go. I too rigged a rear rack on my Buddy after two 1st gen. rear racks broke, with disastrous results. The "new" gen. 3 design has held up with no issues. Money well spent. I also have messed with those crappy mirror adapters, with less than stellar results. Zuma still has those RRGS mirrors on it, and I constantly mess with them on rides when the right side works loose. You have a quality scooter and I would hope you would at least treat it with quality accessories. Everyone warns you about a $13 rear rack-for a reason. Everyone also suggest known mirrors that work without adapters-for a reason. Spend the money now and avoid nasty/horrible surprises later!

Strange on the C3 mirrors being a different size, as Im actually looking at some on a Buddy 125 as I type this in my garage. That adapter you have is the one that makes the mirror sit up higher than stock on the throttle side, weird looking to those of us who like things symmetrical. That adapter is not "that bad" as it allows you to use the stock mirrors locking bolt to keep it tight. I have a drawer full of those adapters from all the different mirrors we have ordered over the years. My friend was seriously going to use them as sling shot ammo, but I rescued them for some reason-as you never know when one might come in handy. The RRGS mirrors mount different, hence the constant loosening.

Also, my mother WASN'T a prostitute. That would infer she was paid.
